History of the Magazine

Nature reported the sixtieth anniversary of the Magazine.

Dr. David Stickland, one of the current Editors, and also the longest-serving Editor, has written a history of the Magazine:

Starting with volume 145 in 2025, The Observatory is a diamond—open–access (free to authors and readers) online-only journal. Not completely unrelated to that, Phillip Helbig is now also an Editor, joining the previous three Editors.
